E-waste in the UK

Did you know that the UK is one of the biggest producers of e-waste? In the UK, on average 23.9kg (52.69 pounds) of waste is created every year per household. Unfortunately, most of that waste isn’t recycled and so toxic substances such as mercury and lead spill into soil and water.

What exactly is e-waste?

E-waste (electronic waste) includes anything with cords, plugs and electronic components. Common sources of e-waste include televisions, computers, mobile phones and any type of home appliance, from air conditioners to children’s toys.

How you can reduce e-waste using the 3 R’s:

  1. Reduce – postpone that upgrade for as long as you can. Not only will you save some money but you will also reduce the amount of e-waste you would be creating.
  2. Reuse – If it’s still working, why not give it to someone who may need it? Such as a member of the family, a friend or even a charity.
  3. Recycle – Bring them to us. At Entrec we recycle all types of e-waste. Our experienced team, ensure that all e-waste is disposed of in a secure, effective, and environmentally friendly way.
